Derek gets closer to his daughter
Friday 11th May 2012 at 8pm BBC1
Derek goes through Alice’s mobile, her having left it behind at their meeting yesterday. Having called her work number for her address, he visits her at home but is saddened when she tells him she doesn’t want him in her life. He doesn’t give up and she soon gives in, agreeing to meet him for lunch.
As they get to know each other, Derek apologises for leaving her and she assures him that her mother never speaks badly of him, instead letting her decide for herself whether she wants him around. Alice tells her that she isn’t won over by him and that perhaps her brother Joey is right – their father is a loser and a waste of space. Derek invites her to meet the rest of the Branning family in a bid to change her mind.
DCI Marsden’s threat is still playing on Phil’s mind and he decides they need to leave Walford for a while and arranges a trip to visit Grant, but neither Jay nor Ben want to go with him. When his car won’t start, Jay runs to Abi’s for sanctuary. Later, Roxy tells Phil to sort things out with Shirley claiming that all this arguing isn’t good for fragile Ben. Phil, annoyed by her interference, shouts that Ben isn’t as perfect as she thinks…
Abi asks her dad to find out why Jay is having such strange mood swings so Max takes the youngster for a driving lesson. Christian is frustrated when Syed cancels their night out to babysit his baby girl but Christian cancels his own plans to spend time with them and Whitney invites Tyler to move in with her and Derek.

Derek has an unexpected visitor
Thursday May 10 2012 at 7.30pm BBC1
Derek walks into a young woman who looks at him strangely before running away, leaving him confused. Forgetting this strange encounter, he plots to stop Carol leaving for Suffolk and devises a plan to manipulate Ray and Morgan. He convinces the young boy that he would have a better life if he stayed in Albert Square with his dad. He then plants a seed in Ray’s head that he has only just come into Morgan’s life and should fight for his son. Ray, furious at what Carol is doing, goes to her house but tells her to let Morgan stay. Derek, convinced his plan is working, suggests they let Morgan decide but Ray realizes this isn’t fair and relents to Carol’s plan.
As Derek waves his family off, he sees that the woman from earlier is watching him. Later, he sees her watching him again. When she runs away, Derek runs after her and insists she tells him who she is. She, however, gives Derek an answer he isn’t expecting…she is his daughter.
Elsewhere, Phil gets a call confirming that the police won’t take any further action against Ben regarding his charges to pervert the course of justice. Relieved, Ben suggests a DVD and take-away night to celebrate. As they are all relaxing, DCI Marsden turns up and ruins the party. Phi boasts that she hasn’t got anything against him but she promises she will be watching his every move and as soon as he steps out of line, she will be there to catch him.
Abi gathers the Branning family at the Argee Bhajee to celebrate Max’s birthday. Lauren refuses to face her demons and the arguing between Tamwar and Afia builds to a head. However, they put their differences aside and successfully relaunch the curry house.

Its time for Lauren to face the music
Tuesday 8th May, 2012. 19:30 on BBC1
After her wild night out, Lauren wakes up in hospital with little memory of the evening before. The teenager leaves as soon as possible, which causes her to miss Lucy who has been searching for her. Later on Lucy arrives at the Branning house to see if Lauren has been home yet. She tries to conceal the events of the night before, however Tanya’s worried looks cause her to feel guilty, so she reviews all to the family.

When Zainab criticises Afia’s plans the young girl feels disheartened and scraps her ideas for the future.
Elsewhere, Ray is shocked to hear that Carol wants to leave the square, which means taking Morgan with her. Ian’s accountant warns him to cut the spending
Tuesday 1st May, 19:30 on BBC1
Mandy really wants a honeymoon cruise, but Ian says no, claiming that it would cost far too much. His mind then turns to the cafe, where he’s facing a health inspection today. As Ian has staff problems, he’s forced to ask Lauren to help with the cleaning, but it’s not long before the pair are bickering. Ian then sacks the feisty teenager, and she tips the bins all over the floor before she leaves, whilst at the same time, Ian’s accountant and the health inspector both enter.
The health inspection gets under way, and Ian’s accountant has bad news for him. He needs to curb his spending immediately, otherwise he’ll lose everything he has. When Ian returns home following his difficult day, he takes his temper out on Mandy as she mentions wanting to visit her mum on her sick bed. Ian’s outburst upsets Mandy and she’s on the verge of walking out, so he tries to win her back round by offering to splash out on a cruise for their honeymoon. Ian’s accountant may just be a little annoyed about that.
Across the Square, Michael is still determined to prove himself to Janine, so he vows to pay for their wedding venue. When Janine tells him that the cash is due tomorrow, Michael is desperate to get his hands on the required sum. The schemer pays a visit to The Vic and once again targets Jean as he hands over 500 quid that he’s scraped together, claiming that it’s a return on the money she invested. Michael is chuffed when he then manages to convince Jean to invest the money that Alfie has in the safe, suggesting that the subsequent profits could help Alfie with his financial woes. Soon afterwards, Michael is smug as he tells Janine that he’s sorted the payment for the venue. However, he’s left disappointed when Jean later reveals that she’s changed her mind about investing more money after hearing of Ian’s financial troubles
Also tonight, Alfie attempts to make some cash by arranging a barbecue at The Vic, Max tries to convince Lauren to return home but she’s too stubborn to accept, whilst Kim announces that she’ll have a surprise Olympic guest in attendance as she unveils the new B&B sign, but there’s disappointment all round when it turns out to be future torch-bearer Billy.
