Happy ending for Tamwar and Afia

Himesh Patel (Tamwar) and Meryl Fernandes (Afia) are really hoping that their characters will spend the rest of their lives together in happiness. We recently reported that they happy couple won the Best Wedding award, which they had in a secret registry office, while their families were organising a flamboyant Muslim ceremony.

Meryl apparently said that it was lovely to win the award, but she hopes that all the drama is over for the happy couple. She hopes they live happily ever after. She thinks they are really cute and share a beautiful innocent love that will last.

Jessie Wallace wins best actress

Jessie Wallace has won Best Actress at the 2011 Inside Soap Awards. Eastenders won a total of 5 awards on the night. The other 4 were; Best young actor (Maisie Smith, who plays Tiffany Butcher), Funniest Performance (Tameka Empson, who plays Kim Fox), and Best Wedding (Tamwar & Afia).

The event was held in the plush North London venue Gilgamesh. Fans will have seen Jessie’s character Kat go through a series of ups and downs this year including, burying what she thought was her baby son Tommy’s body, finding out that her baby had been swapped and that Tommy was still alive, Ups and downs with her husband Alfie, and trying to keep Jean in check the whole time.

Maisie Smith, who plays Tiffany will be chuffed to bits with her Best Young Actor award, and Temeka Thompson definately deserved her Funniest Actor Award, after some hilarious performances as Beautician Kim Fox.
