Tanya Franks Unsure About ‘Rainie’s’ Future

It doesn’t look like Rainie Cross will be making her way back onto our screens any time soon.

Speaking to Flavour Magazine, actress Tanya Franks said, “They did ask me to come back last year, but I wasn’t available. I don’t know if I am going back anytime soon or in the near future.”

Speaking of her role as Rainie, Franks admitted, “It’s always fun to play the bad girl. On saying that, with Rainie, it’s not so much that I ever saw that role as it being fun as much as it being a real exploration of somebody going through the kind of turmoil which she went through, particularly on the drug addiction side. I wanted to take that responsibility on board to try and be as truthful as I could without it being sensationalized.”

Tanys Franks can currently be seen in ITV’s ‘Broadchurch’.

Tanya’s shock discovery

We watched earlier in March Tanya make the fatal mistake of letting Phil Mitchell sleep in her bed!!
But it’s ok, because nothing happened…Or so we were led to believe!!
It seems naughty Phil lied to Tanya and they DID in fact SLEEP with each other!
Tanya learns she is pregnant with the Father of 2 and grandfather of one’s baby, sending the Branning family into turmoil.
Poor Tanya, things just don’t seem to be going well for her at the moment.

Actress Jo Joyner to Leave Soap

Tanya Branning actress, Jo Joyner, has decided to bow out of Eastenders.

Explaining her decision she said, “”I love playing Tanya and being part of such a great show, but she has been on quite a rollercoaster over the past seven years and I have come to realise that it’s right for her to step away from Walford for a bit longer than originally planned.  ”I have been very fortunate to have been part of some fantastic storylines over the years, and I have worked with some wonderful people during my time on the show which I will always be very grateful for, but I feel that as a mother and an actress it is time for me to explore some other avenues for a while.”

She later confirmed the news to many fans who thought it was an April Fools’ prank, tweeting on her verified Twitter account, “It is not an April fool! I am moving on later this summer. Thanks to all Tanya’s supporters. Look forward to the next part…. Xxx”

Joyner joined Eastenders back in 2006 and quickly became a fan favourite. Her character, Tanya Branning has gripped the nation with her on and off relationship with her womanizer husband, Max Branning, and her compelling battle with cervical cancer.

Joyner has truly been a remarkable actress to watch over the last seven years and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Jo Joyner to take break from Eastenders role

Eastenders actress Jo Joyner reveals she will be taking a break from the show.

The star who plays Tanya Cross in the show lately said she would be taking a 8 months off the show. However she has lately said she shall be extending her leave in order to explore other acting careers and mostly spending time with her family.

‘I love playing Tanya and being part of such a great show,” Jo said in a statement.

“But she has been on quite a rollercoaster over the past seven years and I have come to realise that it’s right for her to step away from Walford for a bit longer than originally planned.”

She added: “I have been very fortunate to have been part of some fantastic storylines over the years, and I have worked with some wonderful people during my time on the show which I will always be very grateful for, but I feel that as a mother and an actress it is time for me to explore some other avenues for a while.”

A source also said, “Later this year we will see the Branning family cope without her. They will of course miss her, as will her colleagues and no doubt the viewers. We wish Jo well on her ventures new.’
