Billy and Ava to get busy?!

Clare Perkins, who joined EastEnders in 2011 as Ava Hartman, long-lost daughter of Cora and sister to Tanya, has revealed she doesn’t hold out much hope of a blossoming romance between her character and that of Billy Mitchell. One of next week’s upcoming storylines will involve hapless Billy Mitchell attempting to impress teacher Ava by fixing a scratch on her car.

Perkins said:

“Ava has been by herself a long while, and I think she can’t be bothered with relationships. But as the years go on and her son Dexter is growing up, she’s thinking, ‘Oh! I haven’t got anybody’. So when she realises that Billy fancies her, she thinks, ‘Why not? Let’s just see what happens! It’ll never work! Billy’s really sweet and loveable, but he’s kind of a loser! Ava’s a teacher, so in terms of who he is and who she is, it just wouldn’t gel.”

Ava, and teenage son and heartthrob Dexter are set to be imminently moving into the Square making them a more permanent feature in the soap while Ava attempts to build some sort of a relationship with estranged mum Cora and sister Tanya.

Perkins added:

“Ava and Cora are two completely different people, and trying to build a relationship now is difficult. I can see it getting easier. But I don’t think Ava likes Cora very much, even though she wants to.”

Personally I think a little bit of romance between the pair is just what they, and the viewers, both need!

Sharon and Phil to move in together.

Recently we saw a tantalising kiss between ex-lovers Sharon and Phil during their chase of runaways Lola and baby daughter Lexi Pearce. However the old sweethearts are set to take their feelings one step further in an upcoming storyline.

Sharon and Phil are going to set up home together as a genuine couple, with Sharon’s young son Dennis, in Albert Square.

Sharon and Phil first explored their feelings for one another 20 years ago when Sharon was married to Phil’s brother Grant, leading on to one of EastEnders most explosive storylines and reveal episodes – Sharongate!

But what will Sharon’s current (and most would say better in many ways) beau Jack Branning have to say about the affair? Phil warned him he was going to get Sharon back and the old feelings were still there. Jack got worried when Sharon pretended to be married to Phil to help him get custody of granddaughter Lexi.

We can’t wait to see what happens when it all comes out!
